A picture can tell many stories.  While we wait for Blazing A Trail: The Minna Anthony Common Story to be finished, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce everyone to a few of the main characters. We’ll begin with the book’s namesake. 

Minna Anthony Common lived an incredible life and luckily, her family took many pictures of her! You will find these pictures throughout the entire book. Here is a small collage to introduce you to our trailblazer.

After studying these three pictures, how would you describe Minna? When do you think she lived? What might she have been like? What are Minna and the other women doing in the third picture?

Now let’s introduce you to Minna’s grandmother,  Amelia Brown Anthony.

How is her portrait different from Minna’s? How are they the same? Take a moment and describe Amelia. After looking at the pictures, do you think Minna and her grandmother got along?
