Today I would like to introduce you to someone who was a tremendous help throughout the writing of Blazing A Trail: The Minna Anthony Common Story. Meet Vera Common Parmiter, Minna’s youngest daughter.
My sister Molly had the privilege of spending an afternoon with Vera. The two-hour video recorded that day served as the foundation for this book. Vera was the keeper of her mother’s stories and adventures. We will be eternally grateful that she was willing to share all she remembered.
Like her mother, Vera loved the outdoors and her gardens were legendary. In addition to being a tremendous gardener, she was also an English teacher! She was the last person to edit the book before it was sent to Jennifer Varn, our illustrator. Vera passed in the spring of 2018 at the ripe old age of 98. Her edits and approval of the story is something I will cherish forever!

Until next time, happy exploring and make sure to Get Outside Like Minna!
